According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, over 610,042 people experience on any given night in the U.S. Chronic homelessness is the term given to individuals that experience long-term or repeated bouts of homelessness. Nearly 48,000 or 8.5% of homeless persons are veterans. on a given night, nearly 20% of the homeless population had serious mental illness or conditions relate to chronic substance abuse. Some causes of homelessness is lack of affordable housing is one of the biggest ones, unemployment, broken relationships, addiction and substance abuse. I think it's time we try to help the people out. Some ways we could help is buy starting a food drive. Food Drive is where people set up somewhere were homeless people can come and get food for them or their family. We could start donating to homeless shelters to provide for the homeless, it doesn't have to be a lot of money at least $10 a month.
